The Cooler – Original Hardback Edition ‘The Cooler’ is a novel penned in the 1970s by George Markstein, best known for being co-creator of ‘The Prisoner’ TV series and a screenwriter and novelist of much repute. ‘The Cooler’ is a spy story based in Inverlair Lodge, the real-life home for resting spies which was the inspiration for the Village in The Prisoner.
